Domestic Pigs are found across Europe, the Middle East and extend into Asia as far as Indonesia and Japan. They were
brought to southeastern North America from Europe . Pigs are believed to have been domesticated from wild boar as early as
9000 BC in the Near East and separately in China at about the same time. Today there are about 90 breeds of domestic pigs
worldwide.
