White-handed or Lar Gibbon is one of the more well-known lesser apes and is often seen in zoos. The fur coloring of varies from black and dark-brown to light brown sandy colors and is very dense.  Gibbons range from Asia from southern China through eastern Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
